The Lie of the Pre-Tribulation Rapture
The Lie of the Pre-Tribulation Rapture
One of the most popular end-time teachings says that believers will suddenly disappear from the earth before tribulation begins.
According to this doctrine, Yahusha secretly comes for the faithful, removes them from the earth, and then returns publicly later.
But Scripture does not clearly teach two separate returns of Yahusha. It teaches one visible appearing, one resurrection of the righteous, and one gathering of the elect.
Yahusha said: “Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light…”— Yahusha, Mathathyahu 24:29
He then said: “And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven… and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.”
— Yahusha, Mathathyahu 24:30
The order is plain. First comes tribulation.
Then the visible appearing of Yahusha.
Then the gathering.
“And he shall send his messengers with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds.”— Yahusha, Mathathyahu 24:31
Yahusha did not say the elect would be gathered before tribulation. He placed the gathering after the tribulation. Sha’al taught the same order.
“For the Master himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the chief messenger, and with the trump of Aluah: and the dead in Mashyakh shall rise first.”— Sha’al, 1 Tasalunaym 4:16
Then the living faithful are gathered with them.
“Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Master in the air.”
— Sha’al, 1 Tasalunaym 4:17
This event includes:
- The descent of Yahusha
- A shout
- The voice of the chief messenger
- The trumpet of Aluah
- The resurrection of the dead
- The gathering of the living faithful
This is not a silent or secret event. It is public, powerful, and connected to the resurrection. Sha’al also warned that the coming of Yahusha and our gathering unto Him would not happen until major prophetic events occurred first.
“That day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed.” — Sha’al, 2 Tasalunaym 2:3
Sha’al did not teach that the faithful would disappear before the man of sin was revealed. He warned the assembly not to be deceived into believing that the day had already arrived. Khazun also shows the Qadashaym enduring persecution and refusing the Beast.
“Here is the patience and the faith of the Qadashaym.”— Yahukhanan, Khazun 13:10
The faithful are not absent from the tribulation account. They are present, tested, persecuted, sealed, protected, and called to endure. The promise is not always removal from suffering. The promise is faithfulness through suffering.
Yahusha prayed concerning His followers:
“I pray not that thou shouldest take them out of the world, but that thou shouldest keep them from the evil.”
— Yahusha, Yahukhanan 17:15
That directly challenges the idea that protection must mean evacuation from the earth. YAHUAH can protect His people while judgment falls around them, just as He protected Yashar’al in MATSARAYM. The first resurrection also occurs when Yahusha establishes His reign.
“And they lived and reigned with Mashyakh a thousand years.”
— Yahukhanan, Khazun 20:4
“This is the first resurrection.”
— Yahukhanan, Khazun 20:5
The resurrection is tied to the coming kingdom, not to a secret earlier escape.
Questions This Doctrine Cannot Answer:
Why did Yahusha place the gathering of the elect after the tribulation?
Why does the gathering happen with a trumpet, a shout, and the resurrection of the dead?
Why did Sha’al say the day would not come until the falling away and the man of sin were revealed?
Why does Khazun describe the Qadashaym enduring persecution during the Beast’s rule?
Why did Yahusha pray that His followers would be kept from evil rather than removed from the world?
Where does Scripture plainly teach one secret coming before tribulation and another visible coming afterward?
Key Points
The gathering occurs after tribulation. The coming of Yahusha is visible and powerful.
The dead in Mashyakh rise first. The living faithful are gathered together with the resurrected Qadashaym. The Qadashaym endure persecution and refuse the Beast.
YAHUAH protects His people without always removing them from the earth. The first resurrection leads into the thousand-year reign.
Final Verdict
The pre-tribulation rapture doctrine separates events Scripture joins together.
It creates a secret coming before the visible coming. It places the gathering before the tribulation, while Yahusha places it after. It removes the faithful from the very endurance Scripture repeatedly commands. The scriptural hope is not a secret escape from the earth. It is the visible return of Yahusha, the resurrection of the righteous, the gathering of the elect, and the establishment of His kingdom. The remnant is called to endure until the end, remain faithful, and expect the coming King. Amayn.
