The Lie That the Kingdom Is in Shamay Instead of on Earth

The Lie That the Kingdom Is in Shamay Instead of on Earth

A major religious doctrine teaches that the final hope of the righteous is to leave the earth and live forever in Shamay. But Scripture repeatedly presents a different hope. The kingdom comes down. Yahusha returns. The righteous are raised. The nations are judged. The Qadashaym reign upon the earth.

Yahusha taught His followers to pray:
“Thy kingdom come. Thy will be done in earth, as it is in shamay.”
— Yahusha, Mathathyahu 6:10

He did not teach them to pray that everyone would permanently leave the earth. He taught them to pray for YAHUAH’s rule to come and be established here. The meek are also promised the earth.

“Baruk are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.”— Yahusha, Mathathyahu 5:5

If the final reward were permanent residence away from the earth, why would Yahusha promise the earth as an inheritance? Daud taught the same thing.

“For evildoers shall be cut off: but those that wait upon YAHUAH, they shall inherit the earth.”— Daud, Tahallaym 37:9

“But the meek shall inherit the earth; and shall delight themselves in the abundance of peace.”— Daud, Tahallaym 37:11

The righteous do not lose the earth to the wicked forever. The wicked are removed, and the faithful inherit what YAHUAH created.
The Nabaym also describe the coming reign of YAHUAH upon the earth.

“And YAHUAH shall be king over all the earth: in that day shall there be one YAHUAH, and his name one.”
— Zakaryahu, Zakaryahu 14:9

This prophecy does not describe the earth being abandoned. It describes YAHUAH’s kingship being established over it. Danay’al also saw the kingdoms of men being replaced by YAHUAH’s kingdom.

“And the kingdom and dominion, and the greatness of the kingdom under the whole heaven, shall be given to the people of the Qadashaym of the most High.”
— Danay’al, Danay’al 7:27

The kingdom is described as being under the whole heaven. The Qadashaym receive dominion over the nations under Shamay, not permanent removal from the earth. Khazun confirms this promise.

“And hast made us unto our Aluah kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.”
— Yahukhanan, Khazun 5:10

The verse does not say:
“We shall reign forever away from the earth.”

It says: “We shall reign on the earth.”

The first resurrection also leads directly into the reign of Yahusha.

“And they lived and reigned with Mashyakh a thousand years.”
— Yahukhanan, Khazun 20:4

“Baruk and set-apart is he that hath part in the first resurrection… they shall be priests of Aluah and of Mashyakh, and shall reign with him a thousand years.”
— Yahukhanan, Khazun 20:6

The hope of the first resurrection is not an eternal escape into the clouds. It is resurrection unto rulership with Yahusha.
Yashayahu describes the earth under the righteous government of the coming King.

“And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks.”
— Yashayahu, Yashayahu 2:4

The nations still exist. They are judged and taught righteousness. War is restrained. The earth is brought under the order of YAHUAH.

Yashayahu also declares:
“For the earth shall be full of the knowledge of YAHUAH, as the waters cover the sea.”
— Yashayahu, Yashayahu 11:9

The earth is not discarded as worthless. It is filled with the knowledge of YAHUAH. The promise to Abaraham also concerned inheritance.

“For the promise, that he should be the heir of the world, was not to Abaraham, or to his seed, through the law, but through the righteousness of faith.”
— Sha’al, Rumaym 4:13

The covenant hope concerns YAHUAH restoring rightful inheritance, not surrendering creation permanently to wickedness. Even the final vision does not show the righteous leaving the earth forever.
It shows the set-apart city descending.

“And I Yahukhanan saw the set-apart city, new Yarushalam, coming down from Aluah out of heaven.”— Yahukhanan, Khazun 21:2

The city comes down. The dwelling of Aluah comes down. The voice from Shamay declares:

“Behold, the tabernacle of Aluah is with men, and he will dwell with them.”
— Yahukhanan, Khazun 21:3

The final movement is not mankind permanently escaping upward. It is YAHUAH dwelling with His people in a renewed creation.

Questions This Doctrine Cannot Answer

Why did Yahusha say the meek would inherit the earth?
Why did He teach His followers to pray for the kingdom to come to the earth?
Why did Daud say those who wait upon YAHUAH would inherit the earth?
Why did Zakaryahu prophesy that YAHUAH would be King over all the earth?
Why did Danay’al say the kingdom under the whole heaven would be given to the Qadashaym?
Why does Khazun say the redeemed will reign on the earth?
Why does the first resurrection lead into a thousand-year reign?
Why do the Nabaym describe nations being taught and judged under the coming King?
Why does New Yarushalam descend from Shamay instead of the righteous remaining away from the earth forever?

Key Points

The kingdom comes to the earth. The meek inherit the earth. The wicked are removed rather than allowed to possess the earth forever. Yahusha returns to reign. The Qadashaym rise in the first resurrection. The redeemed reign with Yahusha upon the earth. The nations are judged and taught righteousness. The earth is filled with the knowledge of YAHUAH. New Yarushalam descends from Shamay. YAHUAH dwells with His people in the renewed creation.

Final Verdict

The doctrine that the final hope is permanent escape from the earth does not match the full testimony of Scripture. It weakens the promises made to the fathers.
It removes the earthly kingdom. It turns resurrection into relocation. It ignores the reign of the Qadashaym. It ignores the restoration of the nations. It ignores the descent of New Yarushalam. The scriptural hope is greater than escape. It is the return of Yahusha, the resurrection of the righteous, the destruction of wicked rule, the restoration of creation, and the kingdom of YAHUAH established upon the earth. The righteous are not promised that the wicked will keep the earth while they flee from it. The righteous are promised that they will inherit it. Amayn.
